Global Warming-Everyone's responsiblity

Global Warming can be defined as "the increase of the average temperature on Earth. As the Earth is getting hotter, disasters like hurricanes, droughts and floods are getting more frequent.” But is that really the case of is history repeating itself? This has been an ongoing debate with no clear outcome. Perhaps it is best that we do our own research to see what is really going on.

If you search the internet for information on the subject of Global Warming you will see anything from articles that will scare you to death with doom and gloom outcomes and others that tell the pros and cons that may come with Global Warming. All you have to do is search the internet on this subject and you get responses from people who are all for government intervention and those who feel that it is a way for government to further tell us what to do, how to do it and how much of it we can do. In a blog by Harry Fuller and Heather Clancy you can see opinions from those who have responded to this article. These opinions show that people are passionate about this issue as we should be.

Whatever the scientific data is and whether or not global warming is actually changing our climate a few things are clear:

The government should step up regulations that hold companies to stricter guidelines on how to control pollutants. We can start at home (in U.S.) but would have to also be done on a national level. There is no harm in keeping pollutants under control even if they don’t result in global warming. They do cause cancer in humans and destroy wildlife.

Our children and their children will not enjoy the beauty of nature if we keep destroying it with ugly chemical and industrial plants.

Going “green “only benefits us and in the process we are creating less waste and preserving what is left of our national resources. It makes since that recycling, controlling the amount of pollutants allowed into the air by companies and cleaner burning automobiles will benefit us all. The Clean Air Act was passed in 1990. This was the last major change in law regarding pollution. I believe we need to make our voices heard and make amendments to this act. Again it needs to be global so that everyone is participating. If the U.S. is controlling their pollution levels and China, for example, is continuing to spew out toxins into the air we will be defeated in our clean air quest.

In my colleagues blog Political Haze the author fails to create a sense of credibility for the reader. The reader is unaware if the author or the source of information is even a credible source. Though the author does a great job of outlining the background information of the issue, without the audiences trust they cant get their point across. With the authors use of “the government should” and the use of words like passionate, shows the authors bias opinion and what message they want to get across. Obviously this author wants the reader to be for the government having a greater involvement in environmental issues, and to make a move for the a greener America. The author also leaves out important information about the clean air act and what that accomplished. And thus by not talking about anything the government did in the last 19 years for the environment it makes the reader think that nothing at all was accomplished which is clearly not the case. However overall the author is truly affective at convincing his audience.

On the eve of polls, parties have started a digital media war. With the Election Commission approving 40 short videos, the ruling AIADMK has hit out at the DMK for its failures and misdeeds. The videos also list out the achievement of the AIADMK governments headed by J Jayalalithaa in the past and Edappadi K Palaniswami now.
